I am on a journey to see how God will use me in this messy thing called the "Church." While on that journey I have just recently moved to a new role as a Sr. Pastor. Not real sure what that means really, but God is moving and I will follow the wave as it goes.

Orange Conference – Wed night

Sitting at Orange and realizing that we are no longer constrained to the walls that exist at a conference or in a gathering.  We can now be connected through every media avenue available.  Orange is being streamed live through out the world.  So, while I sit here and engage in what is happening I am also connecting through twitter and able to see what others are thinking as we listen together and connect under one truth, Jesus is Lord.

Here are my thoughts as I listen and engage with others tonight.

Collide – make a deliberate contact for the reason of a lasting impact

In what ways can we collide with those who do not know Jesus and help them know the truth

The greatest thing that can happen in your church is what happens with you as a leader

When we collide with God it changes the way we look at the world (When I collide with the world it changes the way I see God)

We have to invite a generation into a dialogue about Jesus so they can know that there is more to life

Only 23.5% of families are defined as those where the children are living with both biological parents

We can stop doing ministry out of imagination if we are not careful and start doing ministry out of memory

Psalmist said to sing a new song unto the Lord six times

Sing a song 30 times and you stop listening to the Lyrics.

Every church has a unique blueprint

Core Value – everything is an experiment

If you stop creating the future you start repeating the past.

Change of pace plus change of place changes perspective

A lack of wonder is a lack of love

Leadership means to disrupt the routine

There has never been anyone in history who has needed less than the full measure of God’s grace.

It does not matter how broken or lost someone has become they are never less than a single moments notice of forgiveness

We need to continue to work with the churches in our area whether they are of the same belief or not

We are not just called to help people but that we would collide differently with people

We are called to be ninja’s of one particular skill and that is developing the habit of fascination

We don’t just help we are fascinated because every human being contains a fragment of who God is in each of us

The gospel movement is supposed to be an unapologetic mess

Why is it not significant to you and I that we can say to one another “I know Your Maker”

Mix stories, meet them in the middle, be set free and repent of our sins

we don’t just help them

we need to tell stories

we need to be amazed by them

we are called to collide with one another
