I am on a journey to see how God will use me in this messy thing called the "Church." While on that journey I have just recently moved to a new role as a Sr. Pastor. Not real sure what that means really, but God is moving and I will follow the wave as it goes.

Child give’s Birthday to Rapha House

My oldest son turned 13 this past week and had a party with some of his friends over the weekend.  As we prepared for the party and put invitations together he decided that he wanted to have everyone donate money to Rapha house instead of buying him presents.  Most of us know that 13 year old’s have a real tendency to be self-focused and want things for themselves.  So, when Ashton told us that he wanted to give his presents away we were surprised.Ashton

As we planned for the event I thought most people would just not give a gift at all.  I was wrong.  Ashton had set a goal of raising $50.00 and had decided that if he did not get that he would put the rest in from monies he recieved from Grandparents for his birthday.  However, as Ashton started unwrapping cards and adding up the gifts he and his friends gave over $100 to Rapha House.

I am a proud dad, but I am more excited that he gets what it means to give and he realizes that what He does have and others don’t.

Great job Ashton!
