Book Review – Donald Miller’s new one

A Million Miles in a Thousand Years
by Donald Miller

Donald Miller does it again.  A great book that just captivates you and causes you to reflect on your life and ask the question, “Are you living a good story?”  Is your life one that causes you to wake up and embrace every moment that you are in.  Not all of them have to be good moments but we do have to embrace the moments so that we can create a good story.

In the first few chapters of the book I struggled a little to fall in love with the story line.  I stuck with it knowing that Don has written really good stuff in the past.  I am glad I did.  As I moved through the book I began to see and understand what story really looked like.  I began to reflect on my life and wonder if I am living a life worth retelling.  Are the events in my life stories that captivate the life I have lived?

In this book you will be reading it and at time you will find yourself setting the book down because you will have water in your eyes and you will no longer be able to read.  You will find yourself embracing the characters in the book and wondering if you are a character in your own story.  Don’t miss the opportunity to simply just embrace this book and begin to tell your story.

Personal Opinion:  Great Read!

  1. I really enjoyed it as well. Not necessarily because of the way he writes, but mainly because of what he was writing about.
Talking about how to write a story (the elements, etc…) inside of a book that was using the same technique that he was talking about.
    Brilliant.
