I am on a journey to see how God will use me in this messy thing called the "Church." While on that journey I have just recently moved to a new role as a Sr. Pastor. Not real sure what that means really, but God is moving and I will follow the wave as it goes.

Seeking God in deicision making

Making decision’s have often been pretty easy for me in my life.  I can look at a situation and make a decision that will lead us down the right path and push us towards where we need to be in order to be prepared for the next decision.  While I can do this I am also learning what it means to seek out God’s divine interaction in making a decision.

I recently heard a sermon on Esther and while reading the text I got lost in some thoughts that I wanted to share here about making decisions.  If you read the book of Esther you will see that she fulfilled all of these questions when it came to making here decisions that woul ultimately save the Israelities.

  1. Am I making decisions based on God’s will?
  2. Am I making decisions based on the guidance of the Holy Spirit?
  3. Am I giving God the time to move that he needs too?
  4. Am I speaking based on the spirit leading my conversation towards God?

At first glance these seem like pretty simple questions.  In the midst of making decision they have huge ramifications.  Let us become more like Esther in our decision making process.
