Book Review – Do I Know God
Do I know God
by Tullian Tchividjian
Recently, I was looking to read something a little different than my normal reading and picked up this book. While I was not real excited to start reading it. Thinking I have been a Christian most of my life certainly this book will not really move me in any certain direction. Tullian really focuses on helping people understand that the relationship between us and God rely’s on what we put into it.
“Christianity is first and foremost about a relationship to God – knowing him truly and personally.”
Over the last several months I have struggled with spending that down time with God just listening and sharing with him my thoughts with Him. The first part of this book really opened me up to finding more creative ways to spend time with God in all parts of my day. There is a lot of good thoughts in this book that will cause you to pause and reflect on how you are doing life with God. If there is no other reason to read this book I would suggest letting that be the one.
“The grand difference between a human being and a Supreme Being is precisely this: Apart from God I cannot exist; apart form me God does exist. God does not need me in order for him to be. I do need God in order for me to be.” R.C. Sproul
