I am on a journey to see how God will use me in this messy thing called the "Church." While on that journey I have just recently moved to a new role as a Sr. Pastor. Not real sure what that means really, but God is moving and I will follow the wave as it goes.

Book Review – The Principle of the Path

Book Review

“The Principle of the Path” by Andy Stanley

Over the years I have read just about anything that Andy Stanley has written.  So, when this book became available I was excited to get it and read it.  Andy has always done a good job of writing on leadership and sharing with us from his heart and experiences lessons that he has learned.

This book is no different.

I will have to admit that “The Principle of the Path” was not my favorite book that Andy has written.  It really felt more like a sermon series that a great book.  While that is not all bad it just was not what I had expected.  The content was good and the overall teaching in the book was excellent.

The main thesis of the book is that the decisions we make determine more of where we are in life than we often accept or realize.  To quote Andy, “Direction – not intention – determines our destination.” If you are a leader on any level you will understand this and see many ways that it comes true in your life and ministry.

Overall, decent book for leaders, great book for students headed off to college or graduating college.  A lesson many of us wish we would have learned a long time ago.
