I am on a journey to see how God will use me in this messy thing called the "Church." While on that journey I have just recently moved to a new role as a Sr. Pastor. Not real sure what that means really, but God is moving and I will follow the wave as it goes.

Creating Buzz

In a recent blog post by Tony Morgan he made this statement, “In my experience, different creates buzz. And, when there’s buzz, more people are talking about it and inviting their friends.” This caught my attention quite a bit.

I know that in my leadership style and in creating structure in our ministry that we are constantly looking to improve what we do in our services and programming. However, I tend to move slowly and make minor changes that lead us through transition rather than to abruptly make a change. I wonder if it is time to really make a change that will create a buzz. What could we do? How do we do it? Where could we do it? I realize that as leaders all changes have to be intentional and should lead us towards a bigger goal. But what could that change look like? How could we reach more students? Can the message that we are trying to communicate come out in a different medium than what we are thinking right now?

I am not sure where this will lead but what are you doing that is different? Seriously, share your ideas with us so that we can spark some creative juices that will push us all to create a “little buzz.”

P.S.  If you are interested in meeting Tony Morgan he will be at Harvester Christian Church on Monday July 6th for his “Killing Cockroaches Book Tour.”  Visit his site at www.tonymorganlive.com for more information.
