I am on a journey to see how God will use me in this messy thing called the "Church." While on that journey I have just recently moved to a new role as a Sr. Pastor. Not real sure what that means really, but God is moving and I will follow the wave as it goes.

WEB 2.0 and your ministry

student websiteSeveral months ago our student ministry team got into a conversation about our website.  We had what we thought was a pretty good site that truly was not getting much traffic anymore.  So, as we debated what we should do and kicked around a lot of different ideas and thoughts before we finally landed on a decision.

Web 2.0 is really a formula that many churches are using in a lot of ways.  One of the struggles we had with our ministry was how are we going to keep up our website, blogs and our facebook group.  In the end we decided to go with a much needed redesign of our site.  Our site now is based off the whole web 2.o concept and our students are now getting information that normally they would have missed sent right into the world they are already living in.  No longer do they have to go to our site to be updated as to what is happening in our minsitry.  However, parents and those looking to know what we offer will find everything they could possibly want by visiting our site.

How are you using web 2.o to connect to your students?  Check out our site and let me know what you think.
